A garden on a quiet block, with the city gathered within an easy walk.
This quarter was built out as a streetcar suburb once the 14th Street line climbed the hill from downtown. That history is why the blocks are dense but leafy, the rowhouses deep and narrow, and the commercial spine — 14th Street and the 11th Street corridor — walkable rather than driven.
Kenyon Street sits on the quiet side of that spine, on the Park View border: residential, traffic-calmed, tree-canopied, with both Green and Yellow Line stations about eight minutes on foot. Gallery Place is roughly ten minutes away by rail; the 11th Street table, the garden, and the front door remain close at hand.
Bike lanes and a low-traffic street
Protected lanes pick up at the corner and run into the Georgia Avenue and 11th Street network — a continuous ride downtown and to Rock Creek without merging into traffic. A Capital Bikeshare dock sits within a block. Kenyon itself is residential and traffic-calmed, not a cut-through.
Dinner is a walk, not a drive
Kenyon runs into Eleventh: three minutes to Wonderland, four to Odd Provisions and El Chucho, five to Queen's English, Qui Qui and The Coupe, six to Red Rocks and the dog park. Call Your Mother, St. Vincent and Hook Hall are the other direction, and the Columbia Heights farmers market runs Saturdays year-round, eight minutes out.
